Job Description


Job Title: Clinical Therapist/Residential Treatment - Knox CRC

Normal Working Hours: Full Time; 8am-5pm, some evenings and weekends as needed

Reports To: Clinical Director

Direct Reports: Clinical Case Manager


Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual, family, group therapy, and in-home family therapy as well as crisis counseling, to clients on his/her caseload according to each client's needs/abilities. This includes assessing a client's therapeutic needs/strengths and establishing a therapeutic relationship while utilizing interventions that will enhance his overall functioning.

  • May supervise youth during school transition times such as school arrival/dismissal This applies to Wooster only

  • Completes appropriate documentation and paperwork including, but not limited to progress notes after each therapy session, monthly/ninety day reports, J-Soaps, Terminations, Transfers and Individual Service Plans. Serves as a contact point for families, agencies, and court, engaging in correspondence and communicating information within the confines of The Village Network's confidentiality policies and procedures. Willingness to be on-call as needed.

  • Facilitates case management by designing, writing, and coordinating individual treatment plans for each client. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reading/analyzing materials and reports from outside organizations, discussing with staff the progress of the client, revision of plans in order to ensure the best possible care, directing Child Care Supervisors and Child Care Workers on how treatment plans should be implemented where applicable, monitoring compliance with the plans, attend school IEP meetings, conduct weekly team meetings, and attending group meetings to discuss treatment. Interviews, evaluates, and participates in the decision process regarding new candidates to The Village Network.

  • Performs other duties as required, including but not limited to participation in agency and professional training and supervision of Case Manager.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use a computer; proficiency in Word and Electronic Health Record (EHR).

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field; LISW or PCC license required or the ability to obtain it within 2 years. Two years previous experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with in-home service treatment approaches preferred, or willingness to learn.

  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance. Willingness to travel for various reasons, mainly during the day but occasionally overnight. Ability to visit clients' homes (may or may not be handicapped accessible). Local travel may be required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong teamwork and organization/time management skills.

  • Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
