Manufacturing Engineer

  Summary: Under the general supervision of the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer oversees, recommends and implements improvements to overall production processes, methods and controls throughout the plant. Works with all facets of engineering and plant management associated with the applicable JELD-WEN product line where they are located. This position is a driving force behind Lean manufacturing processes, Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, SQDCI, TPS, OTD, etc.  This position will have responsibility for Windows plants located in the East and Midwest (Mt. Vernon, OH; Grinnell, IA; Rantoul, IL, Ringtown, PA).    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment in alignment with Plant Management and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams. Drives business critical metrics including safety, quality and productivity.    Oversees and coordinates with plant management, manufacturing engineers, CI teams, etc., on Lean projects, including the coordination of new/revised products by establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Assist in the development of projects that will require capital investments. Arranges for adequate staffing to meet the production schedules consistent with the overall operational plan at the JELD-WEN facility the position is located. Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality and efficiency improvement in accordance with CI, SQDCI, and TPS methodologies. Leads, oversees, assists and encourages core manufacturing principles by providing adequate time for training and for teams to accomplish CI projects in conjunction with Lean manufacturing techniques, processes and procedures.   Leads manufacturing and operations on cross-functional teams, including CI teams, Lean projects, and partakes in root-cause analyses.    Designs and studies process flow charts and recommends and oversees modifications in work flow to machinery, equipment, and plant processes. Works with the Plant Manager and other plant leadership in analyzing key performance indicators to make the plant better measure, visualize, analyze, improve, report and implement CI's based upon key performance indicators.   Supports all JELD-WEN workplace policies, including but not limited to, operations and safety goals and objectives.    Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field and at least five (5) years of manufacturing experience. An MBA in conjunction with an aforementioned engineering discipline desired.     CADD and blueprint development and experiencerequired. Hands on experience using Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, SQDCI, etc.). Certified Lean Manager a plus. Experience in Lean manufacturing methodologies and practices in manufacturing operations. Knowledge of machining, production, process control and operational work flow. Strong organizational, analytical, and presentation skills a must.    Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought processes to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address plant/production objectives.   Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy to include affiliate plants and corporate personnel. Demonstrated leadership skills with direct reports and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and applicable JELD-WEN software applications. Ability to maintain a high level of integrity while adhering to core JELD-WEN principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities. Travel required, typically within region. 10982

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
